Vanadium

Vanadium is an ultra-trace element, widely found in nature. It is needed by the body in extremely small amounts, yet plays a role in myriad bodily functions. It assists in bone and teeth formation, as well as in energy production. Some researchers believe that vanadium may be involved in blood sugar and fat metabolism. It also may be beneficial for those who have diabetes and hypoglycemia.

Some symptoms of vanadium deficiency may include cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol, and metabolic dysfunction.

Food sources rich in vanadium include parsley, lobster, radishes, dill, whole grains, and olives.
