Barley Grass Juice Powder
Barley grass has been used for medicinal purposes for thousands of years. It contains many vitamins, antioxidants, minerals and proteins. In its young sprout form, barley is more similar to a micronutrient-rich dark-green leafy vegetable than to a mature grain in composition. This matters because at this early stage, these nutrients have strong anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant properties that the mature grain or, more particularly, the flour made from it, does not possess.
Barley grass contains large amounts of vitamins C, B1, B12, and folic acid, beta-carotene, calcium and selenium. It also contains chlorophyll, which many believe works as a natural detoxifier that works to rid the intestines of accumulated toxins.
In patients with type 2 diabetes, barley grass may help decrease LDL (the "bad" cholesterol). Chemicals in barley grass may also delay or prevent development of damage to blood vessels that can be caused by diabetes.
