RECIPE ONE: "Best Sauce Ever (BSE) Veggie Dip"
Active Work Time = 5 minutes, Servings: about 2 1/2 cups, No dairy or gluten
- 1/3 cup hemp or flax or chia seeds
- 3 cloves garlic (more or less, according to your tastebuds)
- 2 Tbs. sweet white organic miso
- 3 Tbs. honey or agave nectar or maple syrup
- 2/3 cup balsamic vinegar or raw apple cider vinegar
- 2/3 cup olive oil
- 1/3 – 1/2 cup water
how to make it
- Place everything in a small food processor or blender, and whiz around until smooth. (If you're using a blender, you'll probably have to chop the garlic coarsely before adding it to the mix.)
- Pour over a prepared salad, on cut veggies, or wherever you want added flavor and antioxidants!
RECIPE TWO: "Green Smoothies"
Active Work Time = 5 minutes, Servings: about 2 cups, No dairy or gluten
- 1 tsp hemp or flax or chia seeds
- 1 cup organic hemp, rice, almond or soy milk
- 1 cup frozen fruit: berries, cherries, mango, pineapple
- 1 Tbls Aloe vera
- 1 Tbls nut or seed butter: almond or cashews, sunflower seed, sesame tahini
- 1 hearty handful of any leafy green: romaine, spinach, dandelion
how to make it
- Place everything in a small food processor or blender and whiz around until smooth.
RECIPE THREE: "Celery Soup"
Active Work Time: 15 minutes, Servings: 8-10, No gluten and can be dairy-free
- 1 bunch of celery
- 2 celery roots (also called celeriac), peeled and diced
- 3 leeks, washed well and chopped
- 1 bay leaf
- 8 (or more) cups good vegetable broth
- 1-6 Tbs. organic ghee (or use olive oil...it won't taste as rich, though)
- Sea salt and pepper to taste. Add salt at the end to keep salt levels to a minimum.
- Sprinkle with dulse flakes to boost mineral content.
how to make it
- Chop the veggies, and plop them in a crockpot with broth and a bay leaf. Cook for 3- 4 hours, until the veggies are soft.
- In batches, puree the soup in a blender or food processor. Return to the crockpot, add the ghee and salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle lightly with dulse flakes just before serving as a garnish.
- You can keep this in the crockpot for several hours on the "Keep Warm" setting with no damage to the soup. You may have to add some water.
RECIPE FOUR: "No-Mato Basil Pesto"
Active Work Time: 10 minutes, Servings: 1 cup, No gluten
- 2 cups fresh basil leaves
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan-Regianno cheese
- ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
- ¼ cup pine nuts or walnuts
- 4 small minced garlic cloves
- ¼ tsp sweet white organic miso
- Sea salt and cracked pepper to taste
- 1 pinch dulse flakes
how to make it
- Combine the basil in with the pine nuts, pulse a few times in a food processor. (If you are using walnuts instead of pine nuts and they are not already chopped, pulse them a few times first, before adding the basil.) Add the garlic and miso, pulse a few times more.
- Slowly add the olive oil in a constant stream while the food processor is on. Stop to scrape down the sides of the food processor with a rubber spatula. Add the grated cheese and pulse again until blended. Add a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Then add a pinch of dulse flakes to boost mineral content.
- Serve with gluten-free pasta or over roasted vegetables or over lean grilled meats and fish.

- 2/3 cup any kind of nuts
- 4 raw brazil nuts
- ¼ tsp sea salt
