ABOUT THIS PRODUCT

Oatmeal has been used for centuries as a soothing agent to relieve itch and irritation associated with various skin conditions. In Roman medical literature there are many
references to the use of oatmeal in medicine. In 1945, a ready to use colloidal oatmeal, (produced by finely grinding the rolled oat and boiling it to extract the colloidal material) became available.  Since the 1940's oatmeal soap has been a hit with consumers worldwide.

Our vegetable-based oat bar soap provides gentle cleansing and exfoliation and is great for folks with easily irritated skin or redness. Pyrithione zinc has been added to aid problem skin. Oats have natural soothing and anti-inflammatory properties and act as a gentle exfoliant, helping to remove dead skin cells. The spicy lather is particularly uplifting.  Our Cinnamon Oatmeal Bar Soap deep cleans without stripping the skin's natural moisture.

PACKAGING

With our small batch hand made soaps we prioritize the use of recycled and renewable materials. The brown Kraft used by this product is 100% compostable - an eco-friendly choice. The sleeve is made of Kraft paper with an inner plant-based PLA lining. The packaging is ASTM D 6400 and DIN EN 13432 certified. These certify that the PLA and paper will compost satisfactorily, including biodegrading at a rate comparable to known compostable materials. The outer shipper is also 100% recyclable and made from 100% recycled paperboard with 90% PCC. The pressure sensitive closure uses gum/glue so that we don't need to use plastic tape. Even our thermal shipping label can be recycled or composted.
